My Collection
I have been collection arms and armour for almost ten years now. What follows is a gallery of that collection, much of which I have purchased. Those items that I personally have manufactured are noted as such.
Swords
The Barbarian Sword Manufactured by Windlass Steelcrafts and based on Schwarzenegger's sword in Conan the Barbarian
Battle Sword A very sturdy Crusader era broadsword. The blade is a Del Tin.
Swept-Hilt Rapier A beautiful example of the classic swept-hilt design forged by Windlass. Mail is one of the easiest forms of armour to make, with numerous websites devoted to just that. All of the following pieces are my own creation.
This is a mantle made with 1/4" inside diameter, 16 gauge links. It is based on an original from the imperial armory in Graz, Austria. |
Plate Armour I have only recently begun to experiment with plate armour. I have made two pieces so far: the copy of a Great Helm made by Rob MacKenzie and the legs. I purchased Brian Price's Techniques of Medieval Armour Reproduction last summer and am impatient to find the time and supplies to begin experimentation.
The helmet I copied with the help of my dad when I was about 15.
My first attempt at an articulated knee. |
Other items in my collection.
A Kite Shield made by Llyod Parker and painted by myself. It bears the Stewart arms.
The Dragonlance. Larry Elmore's paintings from the Dragonlance saga inspired me to create this spear head. It measures 1.5" and mounts on a 1 1/4" oak shaft. |
